Late filmmaker and actor Guru Dutt contributed a remarkably rich oeuvre to Indian cinema that continues to stand the test of time. A multi-talented director, producer and actor, Guru Dutt is considered among the foremost filmmakers of Indian cinema. The BFI is clebrating this great thespian's work through teh screneing of restored version of Pyaasa (1957).
This screening is followed by director Nasreen Munni Kabir's critical take on the filmmaker through her documentary, titled, In Search of Guru Dutt (1989).
The festival will also focus on a few screenings from the London Indian Film festival, which runs from 22-29 June.
